Vega Cast

Watch on another screen

Open Vega Cast on your TV or computer and connect Vega Mobile. Your phone selects the stream; the receiver plays it and provides its own playback controls.

Open Vega Cast

The official receiver is cast.vega-app.in. If you use a self-hosted receiver, open its address instead.

Connect your phone

  1. Connect the phone and receiver to the same Wi-Fi. Open Vega Cast on the receiving screen and choose Connect.
  2. In Vega Mobile, open the cast device chooser and choose Vega Cast, rather than DLNA or Google Cast.
  3. Select the receiver if it appears. Otherwise, tap the scan icon and scan the receiver's QR code. Allow camera access when asked.
  4. Check that both devices show the same confirmation number. Approve the connection on both screens. You do not need to type the code.
  5. Select a video in Vega Mobile and send it to the receiver. Paired devices can reconnect without repeating the first-time pairing.

If the receiver asks to allow audio, select Allow audio & continue on that screen. Browsers may require a local action before playing sound.

During playback

Use either screen to play, pause, seek, change volume or playback speed, and select available audio and subtitle tracks. Quality choices appear for streams that expose multiple qualities. Server choices depend on the stream supplied by your phone.

The receiver tries to load the original stream directly. When browser access restrictions prevent this, it can use the phone's encrypted delivery connection. Keep the phone connected and Vega running when phone delivery is in use.

A directly accessible stream can continue after the phone disconnects: choose Continue watching when prompted. Choosing Stop cast ends playback. Expired stream URLs can still interrupt playback.

To play a file already on the receiving device, choose the local-file option in Watch. This does not require pairing a phone.

Remote, keyboard and controller

  • TV remote: arrows move focus, OK selects, and Back closes a menu. On a timeline or volume slider, press OK to adjust, use arrows, then OK or Back to finish.
  • Standard gamepad: D-pad or left stick moves focus, A/Cross selects, and B/Circle goes back. Press a controller button if the browser has not detected it yet. Nonstandard controller layouts may not work.
  • Computer: Space or K toggles playback; left/right arrows seek, and up/down arrows adjust volume when navigating with a mouse and keyboard. Use Tab to focus controls. F toggles fullscreen and M toggles mute.
  • Mouse: move the pointer to reveal controls. Click an empty area of the player to hide or show them.

Troubleshooting

The receiver is not listed
Use the QR scan option. Check that both devices have an internet connection and are on the same Wi-Fi. Guest-network isolation or a VPN can prevent their local connection.
Pairing or encrypted delivery times out
Keep Vega open on the phone, reload the receiver, and reconnect. If one device is on a guest network, move both to the main network. Networks that block peer connections may prevent phone delivery.
Video plays without sound
Allow audio on the receiver if prompted, check mute and volume on that screen, and try another available audio track.
Subtitles or a codec are unavailable
Open the track menu and select an available track. Support depends on the source, decoder and receiving browser. You can import an external subtitle file from the receiver's subtitle menu. Subtitle timing can be adjusted there too.
Playback buffers or stops
Try a lower available quality or another server. With phone delivery, check both the phone's connection to the stream and its connection to the receiver. High-resolution playback also depends on the receiving device's decoding capabilities.

Smart TV browser capabilities vary. Start with a current desktop browser when troubleshooting; support for a particular codec or 4K stream is not guaranteed on every device.
